Neal Potter provides a personal design and masterplanning service for museums and exhibitions

Neal Potter has been lead designer for major pavilions at four World Fairs:

    • Expo'85 Japan
    • Expo'86 Canada
    • Expo'92 Spain
    • Expo'98 Portugal

Working at these events provided a great insight into communicating with a mass audience.

At Expo'92 he was asked by the Conran Design Group and the Department of Trade and Industry to lead the design team for the creation of the British Pavilion. He brought to the table the idea of using live interpretation. In the main theatre a mime artist interacted with front projected film, rear projected video and mechanical stage effects. The 12 minute show took place in a 200 seat theatre. The theatre was duplicated to help the flow of visitors through the pavilion.

Research showed that Europeans felt Britons were cold and aloof. The entrance to the pavilion included welcoming guides interacting with the high-tec video mosaic to help change visitors perceived views of the British way of life and to showcase Britain in the 1990s.
